Product Details

Course Length:

One semester

Course Description:

This course takes a more in-depth look at the five components of physical fitness touched on in Fitness Fundamentals I: muscular strength, endurance, cardiovascular health, flexibility, and body composition. This course allows students to discover new interests as they experiment with a variety of exercises in a non-competitive atmosphere. By targeting different areas of fitness, students increase their understanding of health habits and practices and improve their overall fitness level. Students take a pre- and post fitness assessment. Throughout this course students also participate in a weekly fitness program involving elements of cardio, strength, and flexibility.

NOTE: MTDA physical education courses are not designed as adaptive PE courses. Students with injuries, special needs or other issues should contact MTDA curriculum staff to see if the course is appropriate for you. If a student has an IEP or 504 that limits exercise or physical activity, this course is not an appropriate placement.

Students may only take one PE course at a time at MTDA.  Students may not take this PE class in addition to a local face-to-face PE during the same term.

Prerequisites:

To take this course, students should have completed Physical Education I THROUGH MONTANA DIGITAL ACADEMY. If this is a student’s first online PE course through MTDA, they should take PE I.
